Celestial Wind Harps
Handmade by John Chambers
Celestial Wind was born in 1986, when John, a professional vocalist and fiddle player, wanted to play the harp and decided to make one. He was having such a good time, and folks loved the harps so much, John soon ended his career as a microbiologist and began crafting his beautiful instruments.
Today, you can visit his shop in Hawthorne, Florida, or find him at many of the larger
art shows in the Southeast, to sample the wonderful sounds and sights of Celestial Wind's
harps.
Many of the area's artists are playing his harps, including David Beede on his CD
"Journey Through Pentatonia", and Bonnie Whitehurst on her recent CD,
"Songs of the Broadloom".

Since at least 1260 BC, harps have been an important part of the Celtic Heritage. Harpers traveled throughout the land carrying with them the folk stories, songs and traditions of the people. Today we are experiencing a reawakening of interest in these pleasures. Thankfully, the modern construction of the Celtic Harp makes it easier to play, even for a novice musician. Nylon strings are arranged like the white keys of a piano and the number of octaves is determined by the size of the harp.
John makes three sizes of harps:
